Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Hernandez is the pastor of Comunidad Esperanza Church of the Nazarene in Richmond, Virginia, where he serves with a passion for proclaiming the gospel, discipleship, and strengthening the local church. He has more than 10 years of experience in pastoral ministry and was called to ministry and ordained in 2016 within the Virginia District Church of the Nazarene.

Together with his wife, Pastor Hannah Hernandez, he faithfully serves in the work of the Lord. Both are graduates of Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Hernandez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, as well as a Master’s degree in Christian Apologetics and a Doctorate in Ministerial Leadership from Liberty University.

In addition to his pastoral work, Rev. Dr. Hernandez serves as Rector and Professor at the Hispanic Nazarene Theological Institute of the Virginia District, where he has been a professor since 2016 and also served as Academic Dean during the years 2021–2022.

His ministerial background also includes service as Youth Coordinator for the Hispanic Ministries of the Virginia District from 2009 to 2021. Through his pastoral, academic, and leadership ministry, he remains committed to the formation of Christian leaders, the spiritual growth of the Hispanic community, and the advancement of the mission of Christ.
