Introduction
This wonderful psalm has inspired dozens of songs and hundreds of messages of hope. Why? Because all of us, like David, its author, have somehow become found in the midst of great and overwhelming wars or persecutions, and that has done, indisputably, that we identify with the feelings of the psalmist. David learned of the great rebellion of his beloved son Absalom, who turned against him a great multitude of the people of Israel using lies and deceptions. What can be more painful than the betrayal of your own family? If someone other than yours were in against you, surely it would not be so serious, but knowing that it is someone you love, that is more painful. What can we learn from this psalm?
Psalm 3:1-8 ESV
Save Me, O My God A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. 3 O Lord, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2 many are saying of my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.” Selah 3 But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. 4 I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah 5 I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around. 7 Arise, O Lord! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people! Selah
1. The Power of Prayer (V. 4)
"I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill."
A cry can make the difference between defeat or victory. That teaches us the Bible. For example, some of the most extraordinary men in biblical history, they were born out of a clamor.
2. The Power of Trust (V. 5)
"I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the Lord sustained me."
Yes, trust is an expression of the divine power given to the Christian.
3. The Power of Salvation (V. 8)
"Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessing be on your people! "
David had seen the power of God saving him in the past. Being a young shepherd of sheep, he had seen God's hand deliver him from bears and lions (1 Samuel 17:37).

Este maravilloso salmo ha inspirado decenas de canciones y cientos de mensajes de esperanza. ¿Por qué? Porque todos, al igual que David, su autor, de algún modo nos hemos
encontrado en medio de grandes y avasalladoras guerras o persecuciones, y eso ha hecho,
indiscutiblemente, que nos identi quemos con el sentir del salmista.
David se enteró de la gran rebelión de su amado hijo Absalón, quien puso en su contra a
una gran multitud del pueblo de Israel valiéndose de mentiras y engaños. ¿Qué puede ser
más doloroso que la traición de tu propia familia? Si alguien ajeno a los tuyos estuviera en
contra tuya, seguramente no sería tan grave, pero saber que es alguien que amas, eso es
más doloroso. ¿Qué podemos aprender de este salmo?

Salmo de David compuesto cuando huía de su hijo Absalón.
1¡Oh SEÑOR, cuánto se han multiplicado mis enemigos! Muchos son los que se levantan contra mí.
2 Muchos dicen acerca de mí:
“¡Dios no lo librará!”. Selah
3 Pero tú, oh SEÑOR,
eres escudo alrededor de mí; eres mi gloria y el que levanta mi cabeza.
4 Con mi voz clamé al SEÑOR,
y él me respondió desde su
santo monte. Selah
5 Yo me acosté y dormí.
Desperté, porque el SEÑOR me sostuvo.
6 No temeré a las decenas de millares del pueblo que han puesto sitio contra mí.
7 ¡Levántate, oh SEÑOR!
¡Sálvame, Dios mío!
Porque a todos mis enemigos has golpeado en la mejilla,

1. El Poder del Clamor (V. 4)
"Con mi voz clamé al SEÑOR, y él me respondió desde su santo monte. Selah"
Un clamor puede hacer la diferencia entre la derrota o la victoria. Eso nos enseña la
Biblia. Por ejemplo, algunos de los hombres más extraordinarios en la historia bíblica,
nacieron de un clamor.
2. El Poder de la Confianza (V. 5)
"Yo me acosté y dormí. Desperté, porque el SEÑOR me sostuvo."
Si, la confianza es una expresión del poder divino dado al cristiano.
3. El Poder de la Salvación (V. 8)
"Del SEÑOR viene la salvación. ¡Sobre tu pueblo sea tu bendición!"
David había visto el poder de Dios salvándolo en el pasado. Siendo un joven pastor de
ovejas, él había visto la mano de Dios librándolo de osos y leones (1 Samuel 17:37).
